About the Artist:

Susan Reich began painting at the age of 50, although she thought she was too old to learn to paint. A few years of study with a couple of master Chinese Brush Painters, and classes at Nanyang University of Art has brought a unique vision to her paintings. She now resides in Texas and is still studying and painting.  Her watercolors, oils and acrylic paintings have found homes in many different states. 

After turning 70, due to various medical reasons, Susan could not stand at her easel to paint.  Susan turned to digital art that was created on an  IPad and Procreate (a digital painting program).  Susan was amazed at the results.  It was just like painting an oil on canvas, but she could do it in her easy chair.   

“Painting on a screen is so much like painting on a canvas or paper.  You choose what medium you want to recreate, then pick the brushes, pencil, or even charcoal to work with that medium.  Next you choose a color pallet to work with.  Now it is time to create, using the same techniques I used at the easel.”

Susan says that she may be getting older, but she will never stop learning.  Each new painting is a learning experience. 

About the artwork:

The digital painting is printed on canvas, using pigments on a Canon Art Printer.  The pigments are guaranteed not to fade for 100 years.  The canvas is mounted on foam board.  All materials are museum quality.   

Framing:  Handmade Wooden Frames created by Susan’s husband.
